7 easee New Year’s resolutions for good eye health
For many of us, the holiday season is the time to look back on what on earth happened past year, have you been good or bad and, last but not least, make resolutions for the coming year. For us easeeans, 2020 has been a magical year. We wish you all a visionary year and hope that everyone will take good care of their eyes by adding some of our suggestions below to your list of resolutions;
1 Get regular eye tests!
2 Wear safety glasses when needed- Safety goggles may not be the prettiest, but if you consider yourself a handyman or woman or will be around fireworks or other hazardous objects, we highly recommend protecting your eyes. Serious eye injuries are no fun by any measure.
3 Wear sunglasses – Don’t forget how important it is to protect your eyes from harmful UV-light. And they look cool.
4 Follow the holy 20/20/20 rule – For the digital generation, this is a must, to prevent eye strain; for every 20 minutes spent looking at a screen, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
5 Get to know your family’s eye health history – Some eye conditions, such as glaucoma, have genetic links.
6 Quit smoking – Another good reason to kick the nasty habit, is that smoking is directly linked to blindness. Smokers are four times more likely to develop macular degeneration, the leading cause of blindness in industrialized countries, compared to non-smokers.
7 Keep fit & eat well – Regular exercise and balanced nutrition, especially vitamins A, C and D, Omega-3 fatty acids, bioflavonoids and antioxidants contribute to maintaining good eye health.
